Two Truths One Lie

I loved to travel and I say loved because after what happened I never want to travel again. I was in Colombia walking around Bogota having the time of my life when suddenly I got hit in the back of my head. I woke up in this very dark room and I could not remember anything. All of a sudden, this big scary looking man walks up to me and demands me to dress up in all black. I was not even from this country and everything was new to me. He mentioned a job and I had no clue what he was talking about. I wanted to leave and he would not let me. I was going to start working for him, not as a prostitute but a smuggler. He wanted me to smuggle drugs from Colombia to Mexico. I had no other choice but to say yes because I would probably be dead right now    

. 

Every year for my birthday I like to do something adventurous. This year for my 19th birthday, I decided to go on a hot air balloon with two of my cousins. It was only my cousins and me because everyone else was too scared. As soon as we got to our destination I felt like I had butterflies in my stomach. As we were going up, I started being less nervous and more excited. Everything looked so small from up in the sky. Instead of buildings, I saw a lot of landscape shapes that were really cool.The weather was amazing because it was not hot at all. It was honestly the best experience ever and I would do it again without a doubt.

 Every year on Easter my family and I drive to San Felipe which is on the other side of the border. We go and camp out in my uncle's ranch. We celebrate Easter with my family from over there. We have a tradition where all the adults hide the eggs filled with confetti. Then all the children find them and after crack them on each other. We off-road as a family and have a trail walk on Sunday morning. Friday nights I spend time with my cousins and we have a bonfire at night. We sing along to songs and eat smores. We usually just spend the weekend there and come back Monday morning.

Eye of the Beholder

In the episode of "Eye of the Beholder" there is a women who goes by the name of Janet. She is living in a society of discrimination,  where doctors and nurses expect her to look just like them. She has had 11 surgery's but none "fix" her face. This episode is very ironic only because everyone is the complete opposite. The doctors are supposed to be the normal people, yet they are the ugly ones. The doctors call her ugly names, like hideous. I expected for the doctors and nurses to look normal yet they did not. They thought Janet was "ugly" only because she didn't look like them. Even in today's society people judge other people, just because they do not look like the way they're supposed to. If you are not tall, skinny, pretty, and perfect people will judge. The saying " Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" is very true, because people tend to look beyond perfect for this society. 

SpiderMan Narrative

The vulture was flying and decided to continue to continue his evil plan of destroying Spider-Man somehow. Then, he sees Spider-Man in the building and notices that this is his shot to attack him. All of a sudden, he has Spider-Man trapped In what looks like a water tank with freezing water. He tries to use his powers to try and escape his way out. However, he notices that his web ran out because he did not refill it since the last time. He cant seem to climb and this ice cold water cant help him think at all. Therefore, Spider-Man will end up dying real soon if he doesn't come up with a plan. He would either drown or suffocate in that water tank. He stops to think that he should use his head, and try to think of something smart and fast. He hears someone walk by and he yells so they can help him out. They ended helping him out by giving him a hand, and he was finally free from the water tank. In conclusion, he was able to defeat the Vulture.

Compare and Contrast

Although Amy Winehouse and Marilyn Monroe are two completely different people, they have a lot of similarities. Amy Winehouse was from London, England and at the age of 16 she broke into the music industry. Marilyn Monroe was from Los Angeles, California. She over came a difficult childhood, to become one of the world's biggest sex symbol. Unlike Amy, Marilyn at the age of 16 was getting married. Amy Winehouse said she did not know what depression was. She stated that she felt funny sometimes and she was different. She linked her drinking into depression. Marilyn Monroe fought her depression following her divorce with Arthur and Gabe's death. They both had failed relationships that just did not work for them. Amy Winehouse had a relationship with Blake, but that did not end well either. She said she felt bad about the way they treated each other and they later divorced on August 28, 2009. He was someone who introduced Amy to hard drugs. Marilyn Monroe got married at the age of 16 with James Dougherty. Although it was to get her out of the orphanage home, he says he was madly in love with her. He was a marine and she had started her career. When he was overseas, he received the divorce papers and tried to get her to forget about the divorce but that did not happen. They ended up getting divorced on September 13, 1946. Amy's death was due to Alcohol Intoxication, and Marilyn's death was due to Barbiturate overdose. Two completely different people, yet a lot of similar things happen to them in life. They both went through depression, failed at relationships, and their death. 

Tragic Marilyn: The Life and Death of a Hollywood Icon

An autopsy is a postmortem, a necropsy, and an examination of death. It's not about one’s health; it's ones death. How did her drug use lead to Marilyn’s death? Actually on the day of her death, empty bottles of medicine were found beside her bed. It was said that she was consuming a great deal of sleeping pills, and other dissimilar pills. Anyone would think different of her death, because of her affair with John F. Kennedy and Robert Kennedy. Although Marilyn Monroe lived a glamour’s life, she died sad and alone. 

Marilyn Monroe had a difficult childhood growing up. At age four, Marilyn was taken away from her mother. She spent most of her time in foster care and in an orphanage. She was sexually assaulted when she was eleven years old. "I was never used to being happy, so that wasn't something I ever took for granted,” she once said. “You see, I was brought up differently from the average American child because the average child is brought up expecting to be happy." She states how she was brought up differently because she was never a happy child. It was something she never took for granted because she never appreciated having a childhood like this. She never knew who her father was and her mother left her at such a young age, she had no choice but to have such a sad childhood.
